The Return of The Soul

Saturday 10.30am. Swimming.
My first ever 10 laps in free style.
Will maintain and train at this distance for couple of sessions.

Sunday 7.30am. Cycling.
Return to Genting Sempah, start at Hin Wai’s house at Gombak, Fook was with us this time.

With no pedaling since last 4 months, cycling at Genting Sempah made me suffering mentally and physically. 2 gentlemen accompanied the me to pedal 9-12km/hr, I mostly dead and tried to persuade them to return on the half way :P Of course, they are not so easily influenced by a pretty gal :P

Eyes on Fire

It is 7.25PM now. I’m alone at my working place

With one eye contaminated now, I’m still looking like a patient. I have been expecting for an MC for more than 2 years, but till then, even getting an MC wasn’t mean I can rest at home.

Friday, 13/4/07, the day after my fever recovered, my eyes getting irritated then started to swelling the next day. I was having difficulty in opening my eyes, they were sore, yet, I was still in customer’s office. Trying to occupied my MC, but I have no choice, I have to stay, even after on the way back, I have called back, and I was so sad. End of the night, I went back like a zombie.

Saturday, I have missed the golden session in the morning, no running no swimming, damn it I hate this! Slept at home rested my eyes, drank a lot of water included many ‘ho-yan-ho’ herbal teas. Dreamt of terrible working stuffs… sucks!

I was almost got crazy by just staying at home. Felt so lost, what is life? What are you trying to achieve in your life? What is the factor that keeps you breathing to stay alive?

Sore throat has attacked me in the night. Whatever it is, nothing would stop me from going for the Orange Run the next day. This is the only color I managed to sense it when I involved in the run.

Run, Forrest Run! I always remember this.

Everybody dies, but we have to keep going, even until body is died, but our soul, will still remain keep going in the world.

I’m getting tired, and I should go by now.

Expected Route, Unexpected Gifts

What: BHPetrol Orange Run
Where: The Curve
When: 15/4/2007

The Orange Run, became my expected event since last year the 1st Orange Run.

This year I never missed to register to this run, and expect the race to come soon. Just 90% recovered from my eyes infection, I’ll regret if I missed this race today.

I was so surprised that I saw a huge crowd flooded the starting point at The Street at The Curve. This event has dramatic increased of registration of participants compare to last year. I joined the happening event with joy and met up with lots of familiar running friends. Grace, Wan Lin, Chong Wah, Fook, Joey, Say Li, Jason, Tey, SJ, Rachel, Ronnie, Pacemakers, Pacesetters, OXians, Duathletes, Triathletes, ‘freelance runners’, etc… Wow, it has been three months we don’t meet each other in road race!

This gonna be my warm up race in 2007, and hope to see all of you more often in coming events!
As expected, it is a hilly route.
For the first few kilometers passing the Damansara Mutiara housing area, it was a very good route to warm my body up (of course for serious runners they already warmed up before flag off). I really had hard time in controlling my pace as I have forgotten what was my condition and fitness level now. Grace has lost from my eyes sight just few seconds after flagged-off.

After crossing the traffic light, hill and hills were just not far from us. Each stride like struggled to survive, and stopping is not an option in my mind. Said hi to Joey at one of the hills, then fighting with the hills again. Actually fighting with the hills wasn’t any problem, but breathing in too much of Carbon Monoxide is really a problem.

The last hill, and it was a long stretch of flat road ahead after passing by the traffic light of Sony. After few minutes of relaxing on the flat road, I started to push and ‘pia’. During this last 3km flat road, I maintained my pace and my mentality until the finishing point. I saw D001 just less than 10 meter in front of me, but I was exhausted and unable to overtake her. Forget about it, if I do so, may be I’ll get ‘engine overhaul’ and ‘cramp to die’.

Tey the cameraman was just near the finishing point and he managed to capture my suffering look.

Not as lucky as last year, and my fitness also not as good as last year, my watch timed at 1:03’40 at the finishing. This is a red alert triggered to me to reshape myself and back to road race.

I realized, running made my life shinning. No matter how far I can go in my carrier, but without this element, my life will be becoming dull.

I headed to redemption counter to redeem my goodies, it was really unexpected that everybody got a backpack, a shopping bag and the certificate. Also, we enjoyed the food and beverage at the carnival.

Entire event was just WONDERFUL. Sweat, sunshine, goodies, and the most valuable gift is friends. Thanks to Tey for all the photos, running friends that make everybody keep running with fun.
